BBC Live Lessons - Earth and the Solar System with Doctor Who

Friday, 23 November 2018

This afternoon, our KS2 children joined schools around the country and took part in a BBC live lesson to celebrate 20 years of the International Space Station being in space.

The children discovered how light travels and investigated Earth’s place within the solar system – all with the help of BBC’s Doctor Who!!

The children were required to be ‘Super Movers’ and get active to help the Doctor save Earth by taking part in Brain Boosters and practical challenges. Well done children!

Anti-bullying week visit from 'Big Dave'

Friday, 16 November 2018

We have taken part in National Anti-bullying week this week which has seen lots of activities take place in classes across school.

Today, we welcomed former World’s Strongest Man ‘Big Dave’ who led an inspirational assembly promoting the importance of communication and self worth. Dave then met with our playground buddies and visited classes for a question and answer session. It was great to see you again ‘Big Dave’!

Thank you to Mr Padotan for arranging this school visit that our children found so engaging.

Remember to ask your children about all of the activities that they have taken part in during Anti-bullying week.

All Saints and Remembrance

Friday, 9 November 2018

Our wonderful mission team prepared and led Collective Worship this morning along with Mrs Hinton to remember some of our school Saints and those who gave their lives in wars throughout the world.

Thank you to the children for such thoughtful responses and to our Y6 child who created an excellent piece of design to mark Remembrance Sunday.

Lest we forget.

Values and Virtues Tree

Wednesday, 7 November 2018

After we joined together as a whole school to worship this morning, our children from each class offered their leaves to our Virtues and Values tree for this half term. The children have written how they will aim to be Faith-Filled and Hopeful in all they do to live out the Jesuit values.

Remember to ask your child about our new Values and Virtues for this half term!
