Year 6 Online Safety assembly

Our Y6 children led us in a very purposeful assembly to complete our week focusing on online safety to acknowledge Internet Safety Day.

Thank you to Year 6 for such a meaningful assembly that supported our understanding in this important area of keeping safe.

Year 5 - Motown Magic

Wow – What a night! Our Year 5 children were truly outstanding as they performed at the Birmingham Town Hall in front of around a 1,000 people as part of the Hagley Pyramid – Motown Magic concert.

It was an incredible evening and our children sang so well to make us so very proud of them. Thank you to all of the parents and staff who also came to support our wonderful children.

Y1 and Y2 visit to Warwick Castle

Our Year 1 and Year 2 children braved the wintry weather on Tuesday to enrich their current topics in history and reading. The children were delighted to learn all about Warwick Castle

and were enchanted to meet the princess! The children took part in an informative and fun packed busy day and learnt lots that will support their progress in a number of areas.

Y3 - End of term Mass

Thank you to Y3 who led  the whole school in a beautiful Mass before half term.

We learnt how as Christ’s followers, we can enliven and enrich the lives around us with our love, enthusiasm and joy. Jesus expects us to be lights shining out and brightening the world around us with our goodness and love.

As St Matthew (5:13-16) tells us, ‘When you are good you will bring light into the world around you, and others will see you and thank God for sharing his goodness.’

Reception's Fairy Tale Parent Workshop

Reception have invited their parents in to school to share with them their learning based around fairy tale stories. Together they got creative making different fairy tale artefacts. Look how amazing their gingerbread men are!

Year 3's Curriculum Workshop

Last week, Year 3 invited their parents to join them in an interactive presentation of their topic work. Year 3 have been learning about Countries of the World this half term and wanted to show all of their knowledge about the different countries and cultures around the world. Thank you so much parents who came and listened to the children and asked them lots of questions. We really appreciate it!

Mental Health Week

In our Monday morning assembly, we launched our Time to Talk initiative across the school. We shared with each other the importance of looking after our minds and bodies and the best ways to do so.

Mrs Evans showed us how we can share our worries or feelings about our day privately with an adult who can help us.

Reception Fairytale Parents' Workshop

David Smith Visit to school

We were delighted on Friday to welcome David Smith to school who has represented Scotland and Great Britain at the high jump. All of the children enjoyed taking part in a circuit of activities that they had raised sponsorship money for. David also spoke to us about how he has developed his talents, and his excitement to represent Great Britain at the upcoming Olympic games in Tokyo.

Year 1 Parents' workshop

Thank you to all of the Year 1 parents who attended the curriculum workshop. It was lovely to see you all there and the children enjoyed demonstrating their knowledge about the four seasons and animal habitats. Their projects are great!
